Gardening and Landscaping

After a couple of months away from your property, do you really want to come back to a jungle of brambles or overgrown weeds. Do you want your carefully nurtured flowerbeds overgrown? Of course you don't. We can supply a gardener who will visit your property at intervals chosen by you. They will tend to the grassed areas, cutting the grass, removing weeds, deal with any mole problems and so on to make sure your lawn is as good as, if not better than you left it.

We will also supply and re-plant if requested, your pots, flowerbeds, window boxes and rockeries, changing from summer to winter flowers as the season changes to ensure your property looks good no matter what time of year you visit.

House Sitting

We all know what a worry it is leaving your house unoccupied whilst on holiday for two weeks, so the worry is greater when away for longer periods. We will visit your property at intervals dictated by you, to make sure that all is OK, we will inspect the property for storm,water and other damage and after contacting you direct we will take appropriate steps to rectify the damage or at least prevent further damage caused by a hole in the roof, frost damaged water pipes and so-on. Should you have insurance on your property covering emergency call out and repairs, we will inform the appropriate company and oversee the repairs at your request keeping you fully informed of the progress to ensure full peace of mind.

Winter Heating

Walls can attract damp and mould, pipes can freeze etc. Anyone who has a caravan that has been laid up over winter will tell you about the post winter problems associated with leaving a home unattended and unheated through the winter . Most homes in Slovenia have wood burning central heating or stoves, some have oil fired boilers, some have gas and some have nothing, not one of them is 100% reliable!! Imagine you have taken the time, trouble and expense of fitting oil fired or gas central heating, you have left your property for the winter, thermostat turned low to keep the chill off as advised. You slam the front door and the pilot light goes out, you return to the UK happy in the knowledge that your heating will take care of your house when the truth is, your lounge is colder than your fridge.

Simple thought but a real possibility when you consider things like power cuts, blocked filters, storms etc. We will check your house over the winter months to minimize the likely hood of such occurrence, we will check fuel levels to ensure sufficient amounts are available and replenish if requested. Wood burning boilers and stoves will be lit periodically depending on temperature to keep the chill off. This will make sure that your home is protected against frost damage and very costly repair bills.

Summer Airing

It is not only the winter months and low temperatures that can damage your home, the rise and fall of daytime and evening temperatures may be just as detrimental to your home and stale air is not nice at the best of times because it can harbor air bourne mould spores. Although less important than the winter heating programme, summer airing will help keep your home in Slovenia at it's best.
There can also be the added problems of insect infestation (wasps and bees etc) during the spring and summer months. The summer airing service will look out for these problems and take the appropriate action to make sure you do not return to a three bedroom beehive, or find that a colony of ants have made a home in your sugar bowl.
